Long Weekend…

In Rambles on October 24, 2006 by alanswan

Hi, no shownotes yesterday due to the hectic goings on at the PPI Radio Awards on Friday (will post photos later, cant get into Flickr for some reason right now) so it was home early for the Take a Break show yesterday :-) Talking about the PPI’s, it was fantastic to be shortlisted out of all the entries for best music show and congrats to Joe in East Coast who won the overall award in the best music show catagory. We did however bring home the bacon for Best Radio Promotion for the 20 Grand Window, it was great to catch up with some old mates and a fantastic night was had by all!! Hence no shownotes yesterday……. ahem…..

Monday’s Take a Break included Luan Parle who was on the show live from DAP studios in Dublin and it was great to finally hear her brand new album ‘Free’. Luan is one of the most hard working and talented singers in Ireland right now and she deserves all the success she gets. For those of you who missed the show yesterday or want more info about Luan, check out her site here. It contains music samples of all her tracks, tour dates, My Space link etc. Best of luck Luan.

Meanwhile on the show today we talked about: Eating your greens, House Prices, 6 weeks to change your tastebuds and MS Readathon. The teaser answer was 6 and we gave away another weekend break from Quality Hotels, Wexford. Another weekend break to giveaway tomorrow. Music wise we played: Artist/Song: Queen-Another One Bites The Dust, MPeople-One Night In Heaven, REO Speedwagon-Can’t Fight This Feeling, The Cardigans-Lovefool, Dido-Life for Rent, Roy Orbison-You Got It, Paul Brady-Don’t Try To Please Me, Rod Stewart-Have You Ever Seen The Rain, ELO-Surrender, Haddaway-What Is Love, Bellfire-Spin The Wheel, Steve Winwood-Valarie, David Dundas-Jeans On, Texas-Inner Smile, Gerry Rafferty-Baker Street, CLASSIC NO1 Adam Faith-What Do You Want, Juice Newton-Angel Of The Morning.

Thats it for now, more from the show tomorrow. Alan
