Remembering the good times….

In Rambles on October 9, 2006 by alanswan

Hello again! I hope you enjoyed the weekend, all was great except for Ireland getting hammered by Cyprus 5-2. What has happened to us??? Anyway instead of going on about Steve Staunton and how much experience he has managing a football team (so far its Ireland and before that Assistant coach for League Two Walsall) I’ve dug up a piece on ‘You Tube’ of Ireland when we beat Brazil 1-0. Ah yes the days when we could expect to beat or a least compete with a team. Enjoy. Next up Czech Republic…… oh dear……

Elsewhere on the show musicwise we played, Artist/Song: Duke Special-Last Night I Nearly Died, Queen-Under Pressure, Scott McKenzie-San Francisco, Huey Lewis-Heart of Rock and Roll, George Michael & Mutya Buena-This Is Not Real Love, Oasis-Songbird, The OJays-Love Train, Cher-Shoop Shoop Song, Ronan Keating-Lovin Each Day, Tina Turner-We Don’t Need Another Hero, 4 of Us-Whats To Come, ELO-Surrender, Texas-Black Eyed Boy, The Christians-Ideal World, Gloria Estefan-Rhythm is Gonna Get You, U2-Stuck In a Moment CLASSIC NO1: The Crickets from 1957 – That’ll Be The Day. Georgio Moroder-Together in Electric Dreams.

On the show we spoke about: The healing hands of Chris DeBurgh, The duty of credit cards going to charity, Driving test waiting times reduced and would you lie on a CV to get a job?

Also well done to Evelyn Lawlor from Carlow who won two tickets to see Kenny Rogers playing the Point on the 19th of Oct. Well done Evelyn.

More on the show tomorrow from 11am GMT on

Have a good Monday, Alan
